You might be thinking of John Elle. He is still alive, just doesn't come to 
the list anymore.
He does go to the AMC Forum alot though.

I've also done some moldmakng using silicone and pouring urethane into the 
mold. I've never used
it to make car parts from, I don't believe it produces strog enough parts 
for the exterior of a car.
