Fullsized Jeeps used an input shaft that was 5" longer than 6 cyls, but it had a 5" spacer between the bell and Trans. Not a special bell.

The only other trans used was a 998 (no 360 in 79). The 1972+ AMC six bell is strong enough to be used in Jeeps, and it is 6-5/8" deep. Everyone uses the six cylinder bell (specifically 77-83) for T-5 (and other trans) conversions -- NOT the T-10 or V-8 three speed bell.
