Spray undercoating inside the rocker cavity is still probably the best 
solution. Nope,
take that back, 316 stainless steel like a Delorean is the best solution.
But there again, make sure the drain holes stay open. The undercoat will 
protect
the metal, but the moisture has got to get out always.
