I looked a little harder. I had looked in the 76,77, and 78 TSMs and found nothing. Since Jim said he'd seen it, I decided to look at another year + and - the years I'd checked. The 79 TSM lists a W code for the AMC 20 -- 2.56, Twin-Grip not available. Don't know if the earlier TSMS are incorrect (X/Y is used for 3.08 in the 79 TSM... standard/TG... for 2.56 in 77-78). 79 was the last year for a V-8 (304) in cars. This was the last year for the 304 (and 401, only used in Full Size Jeeps). After this only 360s were made for the FSJs.

The M20 I have from a '77 AMX has a W stamped on the boss. I can't recall the page where those were listed
