Hmmm.   I never considered the Eagle pan may be different from the one in my Spirit. 
   I would drop the old pan and put a transmission pan universal drain plug in.

Anybody out there have an oil pan and pickup tube from a 232/258-powered
Spirit (or Concord, Gremlin, Hornet) they're willing to part with?
Mine's been fitted with double-oversize drain bolts and still leaks.
