The older cars didn't use clips in the rubber and were glued -- don't know when they started using the clips. It certainly won't hurt to pull the gasket and use weatherstrip or contact cement on them. Less likely to pull out of place that way. The clips hold it in place, but I'd glue also. --------------- Date: Tue, 15 Feb 2011 12:36:13 -0500 From: Bruce Griffis<bruce.griffis@xxxxxxxxx> When you replace the door and trunk gaskets, do you just use the press fit, or do you glue them as well? There are a few spots on the door where the seals need a touch of glue - just wondering if I should remove and glue the whole thing. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://www.amc-mag.com (free download available!) _______________________________________________ AMC-list mailing list AMC-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://list.amc-list.com/listinfo.cgi/amc-list-amc-list.com
