Chad,

Your car has a 3.07 to 1 axle ratio.   That's sort of an in-between gear:  
highway friendly but still able to deliver some torque to the rear wheels.  


If you have a tag, your car probably has the AMC 15 rear, right?  Normally, the 
AMC rears had an alphabetic code stamped into the housing boss near the 
passenger side axle tube (at the rear).  Joe

Joe I checked  the defferential housing on my javelin  and i could'ent find a 
number, but the tag is still there  it reads 13/40 does that help.  chad
