Joe, see http://theamcforum.com/forum/trans-bw-m37-rebuild_topic24961.html. On page 3 about half-way down he mentions taking apart the valve body and finding one of the valves real dirty. It's not hard to drop the pan and valve body and give the VB a thorough cleaning. Nothing will fall out of the VB until you take the two halves apart with the VB out on the bench.

The filler tube you just have to replace. I typically get a piece of exhaust tubing bent as needed and weld a short length with the bend to the filler cap "holder". Then use a straight rubber hose between that and the tank.

My used transmission slips a little when it shifts up when the car is cold, but
shifts?more cleanly when after the car is driven a few miles. I plan to baby
it and check the transmission pressure next weekend.
