[AMC-list] T5 swap...

Thanks Jim,

Not sure about swapping so can you clarify again? Mine is 82 Concord
Wagon 5 speed, 6cyl. I don't tow yet, but wanting to be able to attach
trailer for my show stuff is growing.

My concerns is, of course, bolt up. Have excellent mechanic friend from
H.S. that knows his stuff and has all the tools. AMC's give him a bit of doubt,
so we both try to do homework before starting, so as not to get into it and
SURPRISE something else to buy. (Like when searching for clutch it, seen
the Eagle 10" but couldn't confirm IF it would bolt up and work).

So is this suggestion something that I can just pull and replace? As much
as I would love to have a rebuild (and reduce worry for a long time), speding
less at this time would be a GREAT help. Appreciate your thoughts and
guidance as well as others!

Any thoughts abouot the 10" clutch it? I had this one re-built
12,000 miles bac and the chatter on take off I am told is from the rebuilt
parts. Flywheel was turned and everything new. The other good thing
about my bud is that we do replace everything along the way to reduce coming
back soon.

Blessings,

Richard

Just a thought, but my room mate has the trans issue in her rig (Fword truck) and since it's used for hauling stuff, we found a 4x4 trans (it's currently 2wd) and I already have a NP208F (They are the same as '80 up Jeep Tcase found behind the T18s) so this will give her a lower takeoff gear with the low range and take a lot of stress off the trans. Jeep T5 trans aren't hard to come by and expensive to rebuild.

?? If you don't tow, maybe look at a 2wd AX15 ( real easy to find here. I got one for $250 w/o the bellhousing from a '94 XJ)
