1st question is where are the pictures?  Just a link will do. 
We can't post pics here. 

Sounds like the project numerous guys have contemplated. The firewall and inner fender humps have always stopped them from proceeding.

 Hello,   I have some pics of nearly complete 1973, 258 transplant into my '63 american.  I cut and modified the firewall to fit the big bad six.  The engine has Buick 3.8 std, bore hypereutectic pistons, 4.0L rods, bored .050, small Crower cam, Crower springs, caps, Comp Cams timing set, ported head shaved .060, later intake and exhaust, 2100 carb with 1.14 venturis, HEI distributor, and was balanced.  I started it on a stand, and it fired up on the second attempt. It ran incredibly smooth, but when I twisted the throttle quickly it would stall.  Any ideas?
