[AMC-list] OT: edelbrock carb knoledge needed.

i have an edelbrock model 1400 carb. (600 cfm, calibrated for economy) it has .098 primary jets, and .095 secondary jets. i forget what the metering rods are. 

anyway, i have a 1406 performance tuning kit. several sets of jets/metering rods, and springs. i know the jet sizes, as the number increases, the hole gets bigger. i dont know what the numbers on the metering rods means. and also the spring weights. they are listed in vacume pressures. 

carb is on an f-worded truck with a 351M with a high torque cam, performer intake ect. it is used for all my heavey stuff, it just seems like the carb may be to lean. it gets hot with no/little load at normal cruise. runs normal at wot pulling hills.
