It will indeed fit. I put a front clip (grill and all) from a Concord onto my '76 Hornet wagon (which had rotted out fenders but no other rust) They were even the same color! I wanted the square headlights to update the look of the car. I had a for sale sign in the window (I was originally asking $500 for the car back then. That was @'85) but no-one was interested. I had replaced the trans with a 727 (it was a 258 car) and I was looking for fenders when I spotted the Concord at Cap'n Crunch's junkyard (up in Canada) It took me 1/2 the day to swap it all from one to the other and right after I paid for the parts and I was leaving, an old guy rolled up in a '77ish Plymouth Volare wagon.
   He asked me how much I wanted for my wagon and just for giggles I said $1500. He took it for a spin and was impressed with the power. Until I popped the hood, he didn't believe it only had a 6 in it (His Volare had a heavily smogged 318 with LOTS of miles on it) He asked if I would take $1,000 and his Volare in trade.
   Much as I liked the Hornet, I had bills to pay, so I jumped. Apparently he was going to drop the Volare off (they offered him $200 over the phone and he hoped they would go up after seeing the car, but they would've likely gone down) and look for another car. He drove that wagon til they took his license away 4 years ago and he gave it to his daughter and she drove it to Ontario, Canada when she moved. He was in the hospital the same time as my mom last week. She's now in hospice and probably won't be with us by Christmas time because her cancer is so advanced. All they can do now is make her comfortable till then. Luckily she beat the pneumonia for now.
   She said that at least she's showing the grand kids and great grandkids what will likely happen if they don't stop smoking now.

Sorry. Seems everything keeps coming back around to this right now.

On a brighter note I saw what was likely the precursor to the Eagle at the Brampton, Ontario plant where my uncle worked and it was a lifted Hornet body, but all I wanted to see back then was the AMXs.

The 79 has the unibody in the front up top where the fenders mount made to fit the lower look and curve of the new style front fenders.  The newer bosy also has the radiator set closer to the engine, and a smaller top tank. 
In theory, the Hornet fenders should fit, if you put some sort of spacers under them in the front.  The back should match perfectly.  You would have to hse the Hornet hood.  Put it on the car first, and use where it fits as a guide to how high to space the fenders..
 
I believe the front headlight buckets will sit correctly against the front part of the ubnibody, but probablt holes will have to be drilled to bolt them in.
