[AMC-list] (OT) exhaust manifold expansion plugs?

Not strictly an AMC question, so please bear with me - I have to
get this one solved. It's a general purpose thing.

On my POS '91 Dodge pickup's 318 both exhaust manifolds have holes
at the aft end for connections to various bits of emission control
plumbing. The holes are smooth (not threaded) and next to them are
threaded holes for clamping the connections in. One side actually
has a tube connected to it; the other has (had) a little cover.

However, in both cases the bolts are broken off, leaving gaping
holes that are generating noise and venting a lot of unwelcome
hot exhaust into the engine compartments. So I'd like to close
them up, preferably without having to pull the manifolds, which
would be a PITA.

So does anyone make an expansion plug (as in: insert into hole,
then tighten up a bolt/nut that squeezes the plug material, causing
it to bulge out and seal the hole) that'll withstand exhaust manifold
temperatures? These holes are in the 1/2" neighborhood.

Thanks much.

Jonathn
