that sounds great. having these old cars, with old drivetrains, i think we
expect the worst. 

the trans grinding into first, thats just the t96 trans. they are a very old,
and slow trans. when stopped, you just have to hit the clutch, and give it
about 5-10 seconds for the shaft to stop spinning, then it will go into gear.
there are no synchros on first gear. if your moving, then you got to figure
out the rpms, double clutching, all that stuff to get it in while moving.
