[AMC-list] Pre-AMC for sale

I had someone stop by my house yesterday who saw that I liked AMCs. Said his friend, who moved out of town (Cincinnati) some 20 years ago, still has an area house, and has a car I might want to buy. The car is a 1925 Ajax, which I have since learned, was a predecessor to the Nash Light Six. Mr. Nash decided to create a car that didn't cost as much as his other offerings, and for some reason called it an Ajax instead of a Nash. 2 Years later he did call them Nashs, so the Ajax only lasted 2 years.

Anyway, when I went to look, it was supposed to have been restored some 30 years ago, and had just been sitting the past 20. I was expecting something fairly nice, but found it was too much work for me currently. Everything is there, but it has been in a neglected 80 year old garage, and didn't survive the 20 years too well. BARN FRESH if it were on ebay. Head was "fixed by brazing" some time ago, and very obvious. Not alot of rust, but in collection spots I'd say some holes would develop when doing the body work. Bright work is pitted enough to need fixing instead of cleaning. Original tattered interior with cool 70s plastic checkered seat covers also in rough shape.

He does have some other neat stuff. A couple v12 4 door Lincolns. Both in disrepair, one a "parts car" and outside rusting away, although it looks only slightly worse off than the good car in the garage. A claimed Rolles Royce, or Bentley roadster body that suspiciously has similar handles to the Ajax. A bunch of parts for 20s aged cars, or the two Lincolns. Also a 70 something 240Z?

If someone is into these cars, let me know and I'll pass on his information. He is one of those guys that thinks he is sitting on a pile of gold. He says he wants $8,000 but would take less since he doesn't want a Hotrodder to get it. Although he said 10K from one of them would probably take it. I would have given him $1500, but I'm cheep, shocking hugh, and that type of car isn't my thing. I currently want a 39ish Nash 4dr.
