Re: [AMC-list] A Great AMC Day: The I-64 Eastbound Spirit

That car was at the Charlotte AutoFair this past weekend. I can't remember the guys name now, but he's an AMC vendor from Ohio. 258 4 sped car. Not too much rust, but it's definitely a northern car with a good bit of surface rust. "Frame" area looked solid enough. He was asking $2500 for it. Probably a fair price, but I can get less rusty Spirits down here for about the same. Wouldn't have the AMX flares, but after spending the money on the body work for that one I could probably get repro/used flares. Still wouldn't be a "real" AMX though.

I was heading up I-64 west of Richmond yesterday, and just as I pass the 295 interchange, I look over and notice a familiar shape. Lo and behold, a 79 to 80 AMX, red in color, is going east. The paint was faded, it was a well-used one. But an AMC nevertheless.

It just put a smile on my face, that's all.

If I'd been going the same direction, I would have flagged the dude down.

If the owner is on this list, speak up.
