In my Humble opinion you cant get better then Carlquist competition Engines in Oakville, CT. He has lots of AMC experience. I have built many AMC thumpers and stockers there. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Also to the best of my knowledge he is the only shop with a proper boring torque plate for properly keeping the block square for boring and final honing.
