Nope! Ported vacuum for vacuum advance (or it would be vacuum retard) I tried manifold vacuum. It could even be cam walk, but it's a moot point anyways. The BG 242 doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way! (top speed is 55 MPH at 3500 RPM and it takes awhile to get there!)

hey jim, maybe your vacume advance line is plugged into the wrong place on the
carb, giving it to much vacume, making to much advance at idle? i have done
that myself before. or maybe it is just advanced to far, or there could be a
spring broke if it has mechanical advance? just tryin to give ya ideas. i
dont think you can wire a pertronix wrong can you? a + wire hooked to keyed
power, (red i think) and maybe the black? wire going to the coil. been a
while since i messed with a pertronix.
