You know, it just occurred to me that the 'head problems' of today simply
didn't happen 'then' -- what if it's from stretched out head bolts? Every
one of these motors was overhauled, and I doubt anyone of them bought new
head bolts.

The studs might fix it simply because the studs are new (and likely vastly
better quality).
