I don't know who is right (4th or 3rd).  I seem to recall that the family always said it was third place, but I was wrong about the 2.2 million mile Volvo yesterday so I'm not claiming to be perfectly accurate.  

Bob was killed at Ascot (old Ascot Speedway) in April 1933 here in California.  Racing was dangerous back in the 1930s.
