The spacer is the same thickness as the crank spacer so the starter is just pushed back along with the bellhousing to match the flywheel.

what about the starter? if the flexplate is further back, whats to be done
about the starter engaging? does all it need is a post 71 starter work? i am
not familiar with the v8 stuff, just the old 196 stuff. so im trying to learn
a bunch here.
