After looking at Tom's link, my starter is definitely different. Mine has a round solenoid directly on top and it's a separate part.
Are you saying that a 69-71 starter will fix this or will I need turn the starter or do I can I somehow turn my current starter?

Get a 69-71 starter.
Move the solenoid to the inner fender. Or. You may be able to rotate the starter housing. There is a notch on either the nose or housing. If you can modify the notch and rotate the solenoid out that should do to.

Ok. I have the intake and exhaust from an 81 spirit. I was going to but it on my 64 Rambler but the exhaust manifold is hitting the starter. SON OF A BEACH!!!
Is there anything I can do?
