Re: [AMC-list] rust XJ

Yes, the thought entered my mind. Rust free ones are within reach of here. The thing is, this one is a known evil. It has another spot I may dig into next year, but it is now wearing new factory style rockers. 3/4 of both inner rockers are new. There is a nice layer of spry bed liner on the rockers to.

I replaced the ft shocks and rear ujoint tonight.

Should be good to go for a while.
I think I put at most $400 in it and have left over supplies. RM strikes again. Heck the tires we put on it 6 months ago cost more!

Besides I need the excersize and my 17 year old is learning all about rust and parts swapping :)

You'd be better off getting a newer body with clapped out drivetrain from here and shipping it there. At least the rust monster wouldn't be hiding in it already!

I just finished welding rocker panels on our 97. Damn salt. I figure it was worth more as a clunker than it will bring even with brand spankin new rockers and only 95K on the odo. Still aint no way in hell I was going to send it off as a clunker!
