Re: [AMC-list] My upgrades/conversions

My '82 Spirit had 9" (on the M-15 axle I'm selling for $100 because it has nearly brand new drums, brakes, etc ) The Eagles came with M15 and 10" brakes. That's what's in my Spirit now (I just swapped the original main leaves back in as the Eagle wagon mains were @2" too long)

you have the amc15 rear with 9" drums? some late amcs like concord
wagons have 10" rear drums; get them not only for more braking, but
also easier to get parts for - used '73-'90 on various amcs and jeeps.

grab the concord 14x6" wheels too, if you're still running stockers.
radial tires like wider rims than bias-plys. all the ones i've found
still take my rambler hubcaps but i'm told some won't. paint 'em to
match your car and they'll look stock.

before going to a v8, consider a 4.0 from a wrangler or grand
cherokee. up to about '99 will drop onto your 232 mounts. if you
have an auto, an early-'90s wrangler [yj] would play well - they still
ran the ecm-free 32rh aka tf999.

and btw inline sixes have better natural balance and are smoother than
any other engine used in cars short of v12s.
