Ok, been staying out of this, but here goes. Down in My shed, still bolted to americans 232 is an 81 intake and exaust its had some port work done on the exhaust to Match the big port pretty well. 

    What are the pair worth? No carb or emIssions BS on the stuff at all. 

    Engine also has a chrome valve cover on it. 

    I don't really want to crawl thru the shed to take this stuff off, but if it is wanted. I'll do it.

Is the riser the only reason it wouldn't work? If so, couldn't I just grind off the riser and weld a plate over it?

won't work.  '64-'79 intakes bolt to the exhaust and use a heat riser
to help vaporize the mixture; '80s intakes are separate.  that's why
the water passage and the electric heater underneath the carb.

you could use a late-'70s 2bbl intake with your exhaust, but you need
both the '80s intake and exhaust together.
