Motor oil made it shift EVEN SLOWER than it does with 90 weight! I'm using
royal purple or whatever that stuff was, gl1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 whatever that
is NOT the "extreme pressure" stuff with sulphur that eats brass/bronze. It
was fairly hard to find retail.

I have to shift mine very slowly, no power shifts here!

The OD and trans do share oil, but the oil is thick and the passageways
small, up on a lift I'd pop off both and fill. For a quick check your pinkie
in one hole would be good enough.
