Re: [AMC-list] List

We've tried really hard to administer the technology involved in delivering
AMC-list mailing list to you in plain text, but that sort of thing has long
since gone the way of bench seats and three-on-the-tree: as much as we like
it, it's simply not available on the market any more.

The "new" mailing list is identical to the old one -- exactly the same
software as before! -- but this one is one tiny revision newer. And there is
NOTHING I can do to move back one version.

It may be that in the entire world, "plain text" email is no more.

That said, I don't really understand why anyone is having trouble with "MIME
attachments". Any mail client program written in the last 10 years supports
it 100% transparently.

To be blunt -- if you can't view anything but plain text email there's a
problem at your end. We'll help you fix it, as we can, but it's time I think
to move on from this plain text requirement. It's not a matter of DESIRE,
it's a matter of AVAILABLE TOOLS -- they don't exist any more for us to
deliver mail suitable for "plain text only".

Except for readers-for-the-blind, who always get screwed, there are FREE,
no-cost mail clients that will silently automatically and transparently
handle all kinds of mail, for Windows98 and newer, and any Apple OS X
version, and all of linux.
