Smoke leading to tick leading to knock does not forebode well for a 196...

good thing he shut it down, I've seen more than a few of those with a hole in the side of the block :(
I always suspected a piston failure of some sort.
But never could decipher exactly what had failed on the two I did in.
Wasn't much left, but some chunks....
