My thoughts exactly.
If it is not a new one, I'd toss it and buy one specifically for disc and be done with it.
The drum car masters from that era typically have smaller reservoirs that require frequent/annual checking when used for discs to prevent them running dry when the pads wear down.  

The biggest problem is that when you refill them as the master empties you end up with extra fluid in the system. If you don't carefully remove it before installing new pads it pukes all over the place. usually on your nice painted inner fenders...

what are you doing for the master cylinder?  your original will have a
residual pressure valve on the front outlet the disks won't like.
