Re: [Amc-list] Late engine/trans into earlier body

Yes, I worded that not quite so good, and now have to eat a bit of shoe leather -- especially after Mark's reminder that none of my AMCs are stock, not even my J-10 (almost, but has a 4.0L head and aftermarket intake).

I was really just trying to convey that most wouldn't want to do the work required to stuff a 258 in an early American no more than they'd do something like cut a Javelin up to stuff a 426 hemi under the hood... though I'm sure there's a few who'd like to try that one! I'm having second thoughts about putting that 2.3L turbo motor I have in a 62 American, mainly because of the work. It's a parts car, and I'm thinking about cutting one of the humps out just so I can take pics of what's involved in doing it whether I stick that 2.3L in it or not.

Frank if this is an AMC list then I sure you should realize that some
AMC'ers are also hot rodders and also
hot rod their AMC's! You should change the name of the list if it isn't
for all of us AMC'ers!!!
