I can't speak for the convertible idea but a guy on the AMC Forum in Texas needs a 64 Classic windshield BAD right now.  He's fixing up a Rambler Typhoon.

I'll forward you email address to him if you're willing to part with that windshield (and if it's in good shape of course).
