[Amc-list] external v8 dimensions

i am trying to find the external dimensions for a 304 so i know how much im going to have to trim on the 440. i have a block and heads. no manifolds and such. can anyone tell me how wide a 304 is with manifolds on, and how high up from the oil pan the widest part of the motor is? 

looking at the block i have, it looks like the motor mounts are over top of the front freeze plugs. is that the case? i guess i could build me some rails going between front and rear crossmembers and weld brackets on to bolt the motor mounts to. it is beginning to look like a real do-able feat. getting kinda excited about workin this out....
