The 195.6 upper radiator hose has three annoyances for matching up: two 
very short and tight 90 degree bends, and as Joe pointed out (and I had 
forgot!) the motor end is large.

The radiator tank and top outlet is very close to the engine.

It's a really small car! I know the '65 is a lot bigger all around, 
though the engine compartment is still relatively tight (it seems to 
have expanded every year or two). The pre-64 Americans are REALLY 
small... with my palms on the steering wheel, I can touch the windshield 
glass with my finger tips.
