Re: [Amc-list] urethane bushings

I don't have an AMX, but I run Prothanes stuff in the front of my 69 American with V-8 coils.
Ride is slightly harsher.
I don't have swaybars.
The only rubber still in my front suspension is the strut bushings.
They were only a year of two old so I left them.
The consensus on the older cars is to use a poly half on the front of the bracket and rubber rear.
That way the rubber allows the strut to flex nicely and the poly does not compress and shred like the cheap crap rubber replacements now out there.
I have the poly strut bushings, but as long as the rubber ones are good I'm not putting them in. When mine go bad I will try that half and half method.

I also have the poly for the rear springs, but have not installed them, need to, mine are shot.

If you want a smooth cushy ride, stay with rubber bushings.
As far as ride quality, my American rides and handles better than our 98 Altima does.
I have not driven the 08 Altima yet, si I can't compare to it.
