Re: [Amc-list] old cars suck, but new ones are worse

There's a "high end" old car shop I have mentioned before near me here in Salinas. Scott (the owner) has had some very nice cars, Packards and such in there over the years, but he has also had some Model T's that go on rallies. The owners (one in particular) hires his car to be shipped to the starting city of a rally (sometimes overseas) and tours with other cars of similar vintage for many miles, usually in summer. That car has electric start, two speed rear axle (Ruxton?) and some other mods to make it a little more dependable and contemporary in speed. The rally thing really sounds like fun and I'd like to try it with a pre-war Nash some day. There was a 1929 Nash for sale near Sacramento for months (on craigslist) and that car kept tempting me, but I always came up with reasons I shouldn't buy it (too many projects, afraid of the woodwork, what about parts? etc.)
