[Amc-list] Jeep J-10 T-5 ratios

I just happen to have an 83 J-10 that came with a service manual! The main manual is an 82 with a small 83 supplement. No change for the T-5 in 83, so the below applies to 82 also (and likely through the last J-10 in 88). 

1 - 4.03
2 - 2.37
3 - 1.50
4 - 1.00
5 - 0.76
R - 3.76

This was for all six cylinder J-10/Wagoneer/Cherokee models and four cylinder CJ/Scrambler models with 4.09 axle. 3.54 axle four cylinder CJ/Scrambler models used a 0.86 OD gear, all other speeds the same. One more thing -- T-4 ratios were identical, just no OD of course!

i don't think so.  input gears vary by gearset and afaik ford never
used the jeep ratios, though gm did in s10s at least.  but gm cases
have the gm bolt pattern - at least up to '93; in '94-5 gm switched to
the ford case.
 
hmmm...  maybe it -would- work, with a '94-5 2wd s10 tranny...
 
but if the op is putting a t5 into a javelin or amx that probably
means he wants performance along with the o/d, and that would point
towards a mustang 5.0 t5.
