I agree with Bruce. The machine shop insisted that i use gaskets on the 
exhaust portion of the 390 and I told them no, that I had the manifolds 
trued.  Lo and behold I was right.  Even after over 8K miles, the engine 
purrs without any gaskets or RTV.
