Re: [Amc-list] Need upper rad hose for 86 CJ w/258 and serpentinebelt

I posted this issue to the List a few months back. There's a problem
with the newer Gates and Goodyear hoses for this application. The leg
going to the T-stat housing is cut too short. I spoke with a Gates rep
about this, and they are "looking into it" -- I'm not holding my breath.

I did get one that does work from Advance Auto (partsamerica). Was
their "Drive-Rite" house-brand hose B71384 -- made by Dayco I think. I
bought a couple spares while I was at it.

You might try one for a Spirit. My 83 has a serpentine belt. The upper
port is on the passenger side. Should be Gates part no 21203.
