Maybe try to get hold of the Toledo AMC club prez or newsletter editor
-- they may be able to hook you up with the previous owner, or a club
member who knew the car back when it was in the area.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the AMX.  I asked the seller a few
questions earlier and he gave me generic answers as seen below.  I will
inquire a little more with some of your suggestions.  I know pictures
are deceiving and the fact that the restoration is 20 years old makes me
wonder about the condition of the paint.  I live in Alabama so actually
seeing it in person would be difficult.  I guess I could look for
someone in the New Jersey area who belongs to an AMC club like AMO that
might inspect it for a me.

Sellers response:
This is a very nice car that has been well taken care of. The car was
restored in the late 80's and shown at the nationals in early 90's. We
have owner history and all reciepts on the car. The interior was said to
be original and appears to be true. The roof spoiler was added by the
dealer as owner wanted just about every possible option you could find
on a AMX. The car is a very stand up car with no issues and great
history.
