Re: [Amc-list] Sparkly, sparkly seats

Looks real good! I have to agree with you, the seats wouldn't look as good if they were ribbed. I don't care for the metallic vinyl in general, but this car pulls it off really nice!

Consider skipping the console. Those guys did such a great job on the shifter hump that I'd consider getting a couple leather boots and stitching them together in the center, and use the chrome floor trim around it (or make some stainless trimm to fit). If you have to have a center seat/armrest, the one from a FSJ Wagoneer should fit nicely. Or some other salvaged unit. Something to think about!

The door skins would look good with that silver material up to the top with a strip of green vinyl or carpet along the bottom. Carpet would be neat -- cover the whole door skin in the vinyl then get a piece of carpet edged and screw it over the bottom 4-6" using chrome head screws and trim washers. The top edge of the door is of course painted, for those who didn't see the pics. The arm rest could be from another car, green of course! There's a good sized piece of metal behind the door to screw the arm rest to. Just do some salvage yard shopping! Even a green grab handle would be okay for those flat doors.

Carpet and seats are done! I still need to finish details on
them, but the hard part is done. It's beginning to look exactly
as I imagine it.
