Re: [Amc-list] rearended

looked at the 4.0L blocks tonight.
their both on their tails standing up and I'm not up for rolling them around right now.
Did look over the one enough to see it is a mint straight bore no ridges or signs of wear top or bottom.
I think I'll be trying to get it cleaned up, might just go ahead and put together a standard bore stroker shortblock.
At the least it will consolidate the parts, at the most I may go ahead and do an engine swap when I get ready to do the trans intake and exhaust.
If I don't break any pistons getting them off all I think I need to buy is rings and a cam and lifters. The rest of the stuff I have here.
Last year I put about 300 miles on it, so I might as well make it a little more fun while I'm in there! :]
What was the break point on the dirvers side softplugs in th eblock?
I noticed the clean block has 5 larger plugs, the other that I haven't scoped out fully has three large and two small.
I think the motor mount bosses on the large softplug block are all the same drill and tap size. The two small plug bloch has the larger tap hole the knock sensor went into.
So I assume the two small plug block is earlier then the 5 larger block.
I guess I need to pull the numbers and check to see what they are.
