Well in fact I'm having a spot of trouble with 3rd gear
synchro. R, 1, 2 are perfect. It goes into 3 on the bench, in
the driveway, and at low speeds perfectly, but faster than 25 it
occasionally blocks or grinds.  Double-clutching usually does it.

It's better today, but I'll switch to actual gear oil.

You'll get to say I told you so! :-)
