Re: [Amc-list] 390 Pistons

The 70 390 had a taller deck height shared with all later 401's. Your 68/69
is the shorter deck height, but if your machine shop doesn't know the
difference, or how to find out....you may just want to consider getting a
new machine shop.

Does anyone have any info on replacement pistons for a '68 390? I
brought my motor to a local guy and he said there are two different
deck heights for the 390 and one of them you can use a 401 piston in
and the ones he found for the other height were like $50. each.
Thanks for the info.
