All great news Bruce! I just caution you on the head gasket once more! The last 196 car I picked up I drove around town for a couple weeks. Took it on a longer trip after confidence was up (about 45 minutes) and it blew the head gasket!! Man was I kicking myself as I saw the bit of steam come out from under the hood (temp gauge was off, wouldn't you know!)!! I KNEW BETTER!! It had just re-torqued the head on my 63 American the year before too. I planned on pulling the 196 and replacing with a 4.0L (it was my first 63 Classic wagon, being built as an updated daily driver), but wasn't going to be in a hurry about it until then.
