i can scarcely imagine.  if they foresaw selling any number of 6/3sp
cars, an appropriate tranny would save money [eg. warrantee work] and
reputation; if they didn't expect to sell many, then it wouldn't
matter what tranny they used, so again it might as well be a robust
one.

i assume that fleet sales such as to usaf or taxi cos would either way
get the h/d-fleet drivetrain with the t86.
