Since the 258 is just a stretched 232, can't you plop
a 242 head on that 232? I am talking of the late year
232 (bunch of them out there) and an early 242 head.
That will give you the breathing advantages and the
232s drop right in.
I put an 86 242 set up on my 82 258 with the Ford 300
ign upgrade. I pulled all of the computer crap and did
away with the silly serpentine stuff using a 73 232.
All bolted in, slight modo needed but nothing I
couldn't handle with a vice, file and drill.
Best of all is the combination of performance, gas
miliage and ease of maintenance. Nothing beats a six
with out extras for ease of maintenance......Russ
