Well, I opened the throttle wide after feeding it some gas and a small shot of starter fluid and it ran a few seconds after the starter was disengaged, so I think I can get it to run with a steady gas supply using the fuel pump and an auxilliary gas supply. There were no unusual noises except for perhaps a cracked exhaust manifold or loose exhaust pipe. I may try to save the engine if the car ends up going to the junkyard.
