Well, sounds like you know what you want to do!
As far as storage goes, research. Period.
There are a lot of options for long term storage.
Many things come to mind.
Major, factor is humidity, look at the poor plymouth they unearthed last year.
Storage at moms house sounds cheap, lawn tractor, ewe.
Suggestion, buy mom a nice new storage barn for the lawn tractor!
