Tom,
    If you want to sue that pump I derust it by balsting it or other then If it needs pits or such repaired I would start searching to see what costs truly are. There a few different means by which these typ parts are routinely saved, Plating, boring and sleeving, etc; 
   I'm not real sure what you're looke at, but know that there was a few people redoing pump areas in the AMC V8 covers before Crown started making new covers.
  Just a thought.
