Well, I guess I should have been clearer. The boss walked in on me sending the first email!
I DON'T get to choose! 
I wll go to la, la land and wake up, then he'll tell me what he did!
The surgeon has cart blanche! I have been in pain for 18 months since the accident.
He can do darned near what ever he thinks may work to get it to stop hurting!
Everything in my life has come grinding to a halt or is overshadowed by pain.

I just hope this works!
